Street Fighter V- Here Comes A New Challenger

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Capcom just unveiled Ed, the third DLC character for Season 2 six upcoming new characters to Street Fighter V. Ed was an experiment in S.I.N, a division of Shadaloo, looking to replace the body of M. Bison. After certain events, Balrog found him and raised him. But due to the experiments, Ed ages faster than normal humans, giving him the more adult look than what we seen in the SFV story mode. Heavily influenced by Balrog, his fighting style is surrounded on boxing with the Psycho Powers inherited from M. Bison genes. 9847E1DB-B48A-40C0-8CD0-BF7ED9B2DB0B-10223-00000DE48545764EEd will be available for free in the upcoming Street Fighter V new CFN beta, beginning on May 11th and ending on the 14th. Season 2 Character Pass can be purchased for the cost of $29.99, which will give you access to Akuma, Kolin, and Ed with the three remaining character that’s yet to be announced. The pass also comes with Premium Battle Costumes with colors 3-10 unlocked and default costume colors 3-10 for each character. That’s not all, Season Pass holders will also receive an exclusive PS4 theme.2B0C1F4B-B484-4539-A069-7B74BBBA68E4-10223-00000DE518BF76D8

Ed inputsEd won’t play like a traditional Street Fighter character, due to how different his button inputs are. His special moves doesn’t rely on motion or charge inputs, but simple button presses. Special moves could be executed by simultaneous button presses or repeatedly pushing on a button. Ed’s only traditional motion input is his Critical Art.

In my opinion: I can definitely appreciate what Capcom is doing with these new characters. Ed looks super fun to play as a character and I’m interested to see how this new input layout for a Street Fighter will pan out. Ed will without a doubt will shake things up for Street Fighter V in a favorable way, bringing some diversity and possibly new players towards the game. E72EF4F4-0028-4507-961A-7DBEF2F45C26-10223-00000DE48F0191B8

What Makes Call of Duty Great? (Opinion)

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Call of Duty: WWII worldwide reveal takes place on April 26th and there is a lot of excitement or concerns shared among fans with it’s announcement. Within this console generation we’ve had the opportunity to play four Call of Duty games fans generally had mix reactions towards. Call of Duty: Ghosts, Advance Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare had all received mixed reactions from causal to the hardcore fans and with the exception of Call of Duty: Ghosts most fans have displayed the same outcry, “we want boots on the ground!”.

boots on ground

Today I want to share my opinions on what makes Call of Duty a great shooter. I never felt it was just about having boots on the ground the reason Call of Duty became such a popular franchise. A great Call of Duty game always shared these three elements for making such an addictive game to play.

Blops2 slums

1.Great MapsSlums(Black Ops2), Firing Range(Black Ops), Skidrow(Modern Warfare 2), Pipeline(Modern Warfare), Raid(Black Ops 2), Afghan(Modern Warfare 2), Nuketown(Black Ops) are all great maps I can list just of the top of my head. What made these maps great was the fact it kept to the core map design of a Call of Duty traditional map. By having three lanes- a left, middle, right lanes. Not plastering maps with head glitch spots or having the correct map size for gunfights and respawns. It’s great that certain Call of Duty games will bring back some of these maps in a remastered version in the newer games, but lets not rely on nostalgia for having great maps. I would love Sledgehammer Games to have newly created great maps for players to enjoy.

MW2 Guns

2.Proper Gun Variety/Balance– One of my biggest worries for Call of Duty: WWII is the gun variety and balance. The reason why i’m concerned is due to Call of Duty: Advance Warfare and Sledgehammer Games lack of implementing the two. Everybody that plays Call of Duty has their default gun they use so I understand that, but playing Advance Warfare online most of the community only used on gun, the Bal-27.

Bal 27

Players used that gun not that there weren’t other guns to use, but the Bal-27 just beats out any other gun in the game. Based on my experience when I tried to mix it up using another gun, I calmly or frustratingly switched right back to the Bal-27 to land a good K/D. So if one thing I am really keeping my eye on from Sledgehammer Games is how they plan to balance these guns. With the exception of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the past Call of Duty games this generation haven’t been doing a good job on the variety aspect for the guns. There’s also no more excitement to level up the other guns or getting any of camo colors for them. Having that balance and variety would be an attempt you bring the joy back of using each individual gun class, with the possibility of encouraging players to go get those camo’s.

Scorestreaks

3.Kill/Scorestreaks that matters– I want to feel that gratification of earning high kill/scorestreaks again. If I earned 10, 13, 19 kills in a row, we should be compensated justly for that. With the recent Call of Duty’s even when you earned a high Kill/scorestreak it can easily be disposed of. Leaving you to ask yourself, why would I select those Kill/Scorestreaks? Most people would bring up the campers situation with this notion, but I would counter with “Call of Duty always and forever have campers”. The last Call of Duty that considerably rewarded players on your kills on the battlefield with great kill/scorestreaks was Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 perfectly implemented scorestreaks that had a balance for what type of Call of Duty player you are. For the beginner/intermediate player that can earn small scorestreaks to help your team with a UAV or earn yourself a extra kill with a Hunter Killer Drone, The experienced player with mid tier scorestreaks like laying down a tactical spot for your Sentry gun or raining hell earning more kills with your Stealth Chopper. Then there are those who are a little more advance earning the high scorestreaks from the orbital VSAT to everyone rage quit scorestreak the Swarm. Let’s have distinguishable Kill/Scorestreaks again!

COD WW@

These are the elements in my opinion will create a great Call of Duty game. It was never just about having your boots to the ground, but having great maps, guns that offer variety, and an Kill/Scorestreaks that can suffice to all different types of players. If Sledgehammer Games can truly conquer those three elements, I personally think they will have a great Call of Duty in there hands, which tons of fans will play for years.

Top 5 Upcoming JRPG’s in 2017 for the PS4

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

On the PlayStation 4, we’ve already been given the opportunity to play wonderful 2017 JRPG titles, such as Kingdom Hearts 2.8 to Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix, Tales of Berseria, and the two massive hits NieR: Automata and Persona 5.

Today I want to inform the PlayStation Nation about 5 upcoming JRPG’s which I personally recommend, for PlayStation fans that favor this genre and should be looking out for. Now I know there are a few games that could also list such as Valkyria Revolution, Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, or Grand Blue Fantasy however, I have compiled a list of JRPG’s that I’m mostly anticipating and through my opinion, hopefully you can share or understand the excitement.

Summon Night 6-WUPS

1.Summon Night 6: Lost Borders- 6/23/17 (PS4, PS Vita)

At first glance Summon Night 6: Lost Borders just looks gorgeous. The art style of this JRPG really stands out to capture the attention of gamers, but enough about the looks lets talk about mechanics. Summon Night 6: Lost Borders offers a fully 3-D battle system which allows “Chain Attacks” that happen automatically when surrounding an enemy with two or more party members. In this situation, each party member can attack an enemy without risking a counterattack. With summoning being a hallmark of the franchise, party members can team up for a “Summon Burst” attack that can have a devastating magical strike to take down some of the toughest enemies. The game features dozen of endings, which can have sub-endings that can change depending on a players interaction with other characters. As a thank you to the fans of the series, Summon Night 6: Lost Borders will be fully localized with English voice overs. All key events will the be voiced. As a future new comer to this series, I can’t wait to play this JRPG.

Tokyo Xanadu EX+

2.Tokyo Xanadu, Tokyo Xanadu EX+- 6/30/17 (PS Vita) Late 2017 (PS4, Steam)

Tokyo Xanadu has been out for a long time in Japan and North America will finally be able to get their hands of this stylish dungeon exploring action JRPG, with similar elements from the Persona series of JRPG’s. Tokyo Xanadu will release on the PlayStation Vita on June 30th with Aksys Games doing the English translation and Tokyo Xanadu EX+ for the PS4 and Steam port releasing later this year. Falcom announced the PS4 version (Tokyo Xanadu EX+) will improve on HD graphics and frame rate, with additional story content that will come in the form of extra side story and post-game content. There is still a lot of mystery when it comes to the game for me however, it was developed by Nihon Falcom and having a likeness to the Persona series. My interest for this game is peaking at a all time high.

FF12 ZA

3.Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age- 7/11/17 (PS4)

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age made it to this list just because I didn’t complete this game during the PS2 era. It’s a long story with college friends and roommates. However, with this game making a comeback on the PS4 with great system features like suspend and resume, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, will be completed. One of my favorite things in FFXII is the Gambit system which is one of the most unique AI systems in a Final Fantasy game, due to how deep you can customize each AI action. With modern advancements, including reconstructed battle design and a revamped job system. Fans will be eager to dive back into the world of Ivalice. So who’s going for that platinum trophy?

Ni No Kuni 2

4.Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom- TBA 2017 (PS4)

Last generation, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch in my humble opinion is the best JRPG for the PS3. The story, characters, and battle system was top notch. We also can’t leave out the animated sequences which were crafted by Studio Ghibli, that left you with a high production level feeling as if you were watching an animated movie. I truly adored Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and can’t wait to see how the sequel Ni No Kuni: Revenant Kingdom pans out. There some noticeable changes with the upcoming sequel, like moving away from using and caring for you Familiars. In Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom players will be using the tiny spirit creatures called Higgledies to help you fight and explore within the world of Ni No Kuni. Ys VIII Wups

5.Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana- Fall 2017 (PS4, Windows)

I am super excited to play as Adol once again in a brand new adventure. After being shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island, Adol begins to have dreams of a mysterious blue-haired maiden. Players must join Adol as he discover the secrets of this island, while learning the back story of the mysterious blue-haired maiden Dana through her unique gameplay sections.

So what do you think? Was any of these games on your radar of JRPG’s for 2107 you wanted to play? If not let me know in the comments your top 5 2017 JRPG’s.

Let’s Talk About It: PS Now on Windows 10

Earlier last week it was announced that PS Now was being discontinued everywhere except the PS4 and Windows 10. It’s hard to really decipher exactly what’s going on there are some definite things we need to understand.

First off, yes. On PC PS Now will be exclusive to the Windows 10 operating system. If my memory serves me correctly Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 and 8 all together really soon so all PC owners will have to make that shift. Outside of that, gaming on windows 10 hasn’t been the best so maybe streaming through Windows 10 might get Microsoft a better idea of what it can grow to offer in the future.

Secondly and this is just my opinion, PC gamers don’t go go out in droves to buy new releases. We all know that PC gamers love to tout the specs of their rigs and will spend thousands on graphics cards just to wait for Steam sales and play games they don’t need those cards for. PS Now would give these PC gamers a chance to not download but stream games instantly and enjoy and extensive amount of games for the amount of money they’re waiting to spend on the sale anyway. In my eyes 500 games is better than 5-10 any day.

And finally, Mr. Windows 10 himself Phil Spencer always says things like this “I think it all eventually boils down to [this]: we’ve got to deliver good PC games. PC gamers want to play good PC games. Our first games we launched on PC were going to be games we started on console that we then brought over to PC, and some of them showed that. But going forward, building games that have that ethos of what PC gaming is about more built in from the beginning, whether that means they’re PC-only or PC and console, I think that’s important.” as quoted from an interview given last year from PCGamesN.com. These kinds of statements lead me to believe that Phil Spencer wants to offer the person gaming on PC part of the console experience while working to to provide the best PC games possible. The best console experience without owning a console is PS Now.

In closing, there are some great reasons to see PS Now on Windows 10. Windows 10 will more or less be a fixture in every home and now the streamed power of PlayStation can be at your fingertips. There’s no better advertising tool than the internet and soon people will be able to see the ads then try the app and enjoy what PlayStation has to offer.

Games 101

Let me tell you a little about myself. I love games like really love games. I know you all will ask, why should I care? To answer that question, well you should care because PlayStation is the best in the world. How do I know you might ask? I know because of… 17391759_710309089150876_1758266443_n

Now that I’ve said my piece. I need to go and do something productive with the rest of my day.

Horzion: Zero Dawn-Meet The Machines

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Horizon: Zero Dawn launches on February 28th, 2017 and the release date almost upon us. Guerrilla Games took the time to release videos introducing some of the machines we will encounter within Horizon: Zero Dawn. By the look of things Aloy will have numerous of difficult challenges awaiting her.

Thunderjaw:

thunderjaw

The combat-class Thunderjaw is one of the deadliest machines encountered in Horizon Zero Dawn. A formidable beast equipped with cannons, disc launchers and a mouth laser, its powerful ranged attacks will quickly cut down any hunter foolish enough to alert it. Space permitting, it can also unleash with a devastating range of melee attacks such as charges and tail swipes.

Snapmaw:

snapmaw

An acquisition-class machine, the Snapmaw is frequently found basking in or near bodies of water, where it gathers valuable minerals from the sediment. It can move with surprising ferocity when alerted, lashing out with an array of melee attacks that include powerful lunge bites and tail swipes. For ranged attacks, it fires off cryo mortars that freeze the target on impact.

Stormbird:

stormbird

Soaring through the sky at high altitude, the fearsome Stormbird is a combat-class machine that can swoop down and attack its prey with tremendous force. It is just as dangerous on land as it is in the air, with a variety of swift and powerful attacks that range from wing blasts to claw slashes. Its enormous metal wings are capable of collecting and discharging the electricity in the air.

Behemoth:

behemoth

The Behemoth is a huge, rugged transport-class machine that uses anti-gravity technology to transfer precious cargo from smaller acquisition-class machines into its stomach container. When provoked, it may charge at the enemy or use its anti-gravity unit to hurl heavy objects. It is also equipped with a set of grinding drills that allow it to grind and propel rock projectiles.

In my opinion: Horizon: Zero Dawn is shaping up to be a great game. Guerrilla Games and PlayStation are doing a wonderful job building hype and anticipation on their new venture to the Role Playing Game genre. The level of detail on these machines are jaw-dropping. I’m loving the diversity between the four machines we were introduced to. I’m most definitely up for the challenge and looking forward on taking on some of these ferocious machines. Are you up for the challenge to face them? Which machine is your favorite so far?

kolin-story-costume-1kolin-nostalgia-costume-1kolin-battle-costume So what does Kolin bring to Street Fighter V? Here is her character breakdown:

V-Skill: Inside Slash
kolin_vskill
Kolin’s unique counter allows her to deflect and automatically punish incoming moves with ease.
V-Trigger: Diamond Dust
kolin_vtrigger
With a full V-meter, Kolin can slam the ground twice with her foot, each time shooting out a path of sharp icicles across the floor. In addition to damage and stun, this move freezes the opponent’s stun gauge. While in this special state, the stun gauge will not deplete and if Kolin is successful in stunning the opponent, they will be frozen in place.
Critical Art: Frost Tower

Kolin dashes forward with a slice of her hand. If the attack connects, she’ll continue summoning large icicles from the ground, throwing the opponent into the air and shattering the ice to drop them to the ground.
Here is Kolin’s move list:
screen-shot-2017-02-11-at-5-07-33-pmscreen-shot-2017-02-11-at-5-08-03-pm
In my opinion: From the looks of things I personally think I will love this character. She has an very impressive V-Skill and her V-Trigger has me very curious to see how it will pan out. Also I tend to love Rekka and command dash base characters. But what are your thoughts on Kolin? Will you pick up Kolin on the 28th? Will she replace your main character? Let us know in the comments below.

You can purchase Season 2 Season Pass on the PlayStation Network store for $29.99/ €29.99 / £24.99.
