What’s Up PlayStation Nation,
Final Fantasy XV has spoken of how it’s planned to keep the marquee title alive and well beyond it’s single player DLC in the past and we’ve reported on the previous Multiplayer expansion details. This week it has been revealed in a press release via Final Fantasy XV’s Twitter that the multiplayer expansion was set to release at the end of this month on October 31st but since has been set to release a bit later. Here’s what they had to say below:
“Due to final adjustments and to create the best possible experience, the online expansion Final Fantasy XV: Comrades will now be released in early November,” Square Enix
Editors Opinion: The Multiplayer was fun as well as surprisingly expansive as it showed some promising offerings. The action was fluid as well. My only personal hope is that the FFXV community that’s left truly gives this shot. It was a fresh and fun experience with friends but based on my experience within the time frame of the beta match making did require a bit of work and I feel based on my experience from the beta that this will be heavily reliant on player engagement. So if this this does not gain the correct response from gamers who may not be used to this change in content from a mainline FF title, it may or may not thrive. Of course this is just an early assumption. I hope it does well based on the efforts taken however as it is a very fun experience. But with the late implementation and desire of other games it could be a bit of a tricky road to entice gamers who have since completed the game’s mainline story.
This comes as no surprise just about as the beta build we’ve previously play was in need of a few fixes. This is not necessarily bad news as it’s better to have to a delayed game than a broken game as “some” gamers these days feel. But at any rate fans who have been excited for this expansion will have to hold off a bit longer. But what do you think? Are you looking forward to the Multiplayer expansion? Are you or aren’t you interested in the online implementation of a mainline Final Fantasy game later having online elements? We’d love to hear your thoughts so leave your comments below. What’s Up PlayStation Nation,
Square-Enix has been pretty popular today as they’ve persistently dropped information today from their Paris Games Week keynote. So with that being said, after 10 years of development and anticipation hell, Final Fantasy XV has officially gone gold. As it two disc were pictured on twitter below:
It would be safe to assume that we can expect this title to finally grace our consoles this coming holiday (Nov, 29th). Alongside this news it has also been reported that the Season Pass DLC for Final Fantasy XV will include 3 episodes of new content. Which will include multiplayer of up 4 players online. As reported via the Square-Enix press release here are the full details below:
“The main focus of the Season Pass is three original episodes that take place during the events of FINAL FANTASY XV. Each episode allows players to take control of one of Noctis’ comrades in all-new adventures that offer unique play styles tailored to each character. Players can explore previously unseen areas filled with new monsters, and even obtain weapons that can later be used in the main game. Episode Gladiolus is the first new character adventure to arrive, and will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. Each episode will be available for purchase individually.
Following the release of the character episodes, Comrades—an expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY XV—will introduce a brand-new online co-op mode for up to four players which features intense battles allowing players to take full control of Noctis, Gladio, Prompto and Ignis as a group. Comrades will be available for separate purchase, and is also included in the Season Pass.
This additional content and character episodes are managed by Haruyoshi Sawatari (Producer, Business Division 2) and overseen by FINAL FANTASY XV Director Hajime Tabata with development led by core members of the FINAL FANTASY XV team.”
