Sucker Punch Reveals: Ghost of Tsushima at Paris Games Week

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

This week begins anew with new game announcements from PlayStation at Paris Games Week. To start things off right we’re going to begin with the latest news of a long awaited and rumored Sucker Punch IP. Which is titled: Ghost of Tsushima It’s said to be an open world samurai title which is but don’t take our word for it check out the details below:

In 1274, the Mongol army invaded Japan, their first stop: Tsushima Island. In Ghost of Tsushima, you play as a battered samurai, fighting back against overwhelming odds. In the trailer, you see the leader of the Mongols, a guy I would describe as an “uncomfortably reasonable killer” trying to intimidate our hero. It’s all there, right in that little scene. The power and confidence of the Mongol Empire coming face to face with pure, lethal, samurai determination.

We’re excited to finally be able to talk about the game and look forward to sharing more in the coming months. Keeping it a secret for so long has been painful. The trailer is the perfect way to share with the world what we’ve been dying to play for so many years—fighting back invaders in feudal Japan, mastering the katana and building your legend as “the Ghost.”

(Editors Opinion: I’m very, very interested in this title. I love Samurai and Ninja culture. So this is really up my ally, alongside the expertise of Sucker punch’s combat system and their utilization of the PS4 itself is very, very interesting. I cannot wait to get my hands on this title.)

Sucker Punch has said that more information will be revealed in the next few months. What do you think of the trailer so far are you interested as this is Sucker Punch’s new challenge into an open world samurai title? Comment below and let us know. Horizon Zero Dawn has been a whirlwind of hype, anticipation and overall a grand experience for many of today’s PlayStation gamers. And with today’s news the game has set a new found perspective for new IP’s from Guerilla Games. Horizon zero dawn has caught the eyes of many gamers since it’s debut at  PlayStation’s 2015’s E3 conference. Since that faithful day the wheels of anticipation have been turning and left many gamers salivating for more dino machine goodness. With today’s announcement it’s safe to assume there’s only one direction to go for the Horizon franchise and that my friend is up! Here’s what guerilla games has recently reported via their blog:

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today announced global sales of Horizon Zero Dawn exceeded 2.6 million units during its two weeks of launch*1. The PlayStation®4 (PS4™) system exclusive, developed by Guerrilla, was released globally beginning February 28 to widespread critical acclaim. Praised for its unique world design, wide array of strategic action and fascinating story line, it instantly became one of the most celebrated games of the current generation.  The impressive launch also makes Horizon Zero Dawn the best-selling new first party IP launch on the PS4 system to date and Guerrilla’s biggest debut ever.

This is definitely a good thing for developers and gamers. Hopefully with titles like these we can continue to see creative boundaries being pushed into a fresh direction for future games to come. Here’s what some of Sony’s top heads have have to say:

We knew Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be something special, so to see the incredible critical reaction to a brand new game world translate into this level of sales is really gratifying,” said Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios. “Guerrilla has created a game that is nothing short of exceptional, and the reaction we have seen from fans – from hours and hours of gameplay streaming to endless photo sharing – shows just how impactful it has been.

Herman Hulst also chimed in as well.

We’re thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development,” said Guerrilla Managing Director Hermen Hulst. “This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.

It’s no secret that this game has done exceptionally well for a new IP no less. This could be a sign that we will more Aloy in the future. With that being said, are you enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn?
