What’s Up PlayStation Nation!

In efforts to complete the circle completely: Jak II, Jak III and Jak Racing is new heading to PS4 as a PS2 on PS4 classic. You will have the option to purchase these title as a bundle or individually.  Check out the trailer below and find out what the Bryan Pardilla of SIEA had to say:

Jak II on PS4Jak X Combat Racing on PS4

On October 14, 2003, Naughty Dog released Jak II for the PlayStation 2 system, and something amazing happened for the Jak and Daxter franchise: Jak was able to speak for the first time, enabling players to hear and experience Jak’s own point of view using his voice, instead of relying solely on Daxter’s witty banter and exposition. This was the start of something special, and the franchise continued to reach new heights with the release of Jak 3 and Jak X, in part because of this one simple addition.

Jak II on PS4

By giving Jak a voice, it allowed Naughty Dog to explore new narrative techniques that allowed them to create a grittier world with a much more developed and evolved storyline. Jak and Daxter evolved from whimsical lighthearted platforming characters to a much darker vision of a future’s past world where Jak and Daxter find themselves pitted against multiple dark forces moving against them.

Jak II on PS4

The narrative tropes Naughty Dog explored in Jak and Daxter laid the foundation for the evolution of their highly innovative story telling. It put them on the path that led to the creation of future blockbuster franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us— and to think it all started with giving Jak his own voice.

In celebration of Naughty Dog’s rich heritage, it is with great pleasure that we present to you these Jak & Daxter classics on the PS4.

Wait, there’s more! To help make experiencing these games even more nostalgic, please check out the Legacy Dashboard Theme ($2.99) on the PlayStation Store, also available on December 6.

Legacy Dashboard Theme

(Editors Opinion: I’m very stoked to play these games although a bit frustration due to bad camera restraints of the First Jak and Daxter. I am looking forward to probably adding these titles to the list of games completed for my inner trophy whore. However I must admit since prior to the recent PS2 on PS4 release, I hadn’t played the Jak Series until recently. But since playing these titles I am definitely looking forward to experiencing this classic again. However a part of me wishes that it was a full fledged remake on par with the Ratchet and Clank re-imagining.)

But enough of what we think. What do you think of this news are you interested in replaying these if you have played these before? Are you interested or uninterested in the Jak series. That’s right a month long celebration of Uncharted in all it’s glory.

Naughty Dog has also released a new video which you can view below that revisits some of the most memorable moments from Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune through Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (Feels coming in 3..2…1):

In addition to the feels you may have just experienced. PlayStation and Naughty Dog games are offering a new Uncharted 10th Anniversary PS4 system theme and profile avatar, which will be available for free for 48 hours — from Sunday, November 19 at 8:00 AM Pacific until 8:00 AM Pacific, Tuesday, November 21. Naughty dog has revealed that they will  wrap up the Uncharted 10th Anniversary celebrations at PlayStation Experience with event activities, including a special retrospective panel featuring members of the cast of Uncharted and a show floor puzzle room experience set in a life-sized recreation of Nate’s Attic!

(Editors Opinion: I love and I mean love the Uncharted franchise. But I must admit I haven’t finished all of the remasters of the Nathan drake collection. I’m also a bit disappointed that Golden Abyss hasn’t reached the PS4 for our enjoyment. However, after receiving this news. I am a bit more motivated to go back and relive all those great moments in Uncharted 1-3 once again. And I also hope that from this news. It brings more awareness to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I am hoping to see more games with Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazier. I’m also looking forward to that Uncharted Theme as I personally love all “good” dynamic themes on the PS4 hopefully this can dethrone the Persona 5 themes but that’s a conversation for another day.)

What do you think of this news. Are you interested for this month long celebration? What was your first Uncharted game and what were some of your personal favorite moments? Last but not least, what do you hope to see at the PSX special event panel? Comment below let us know. What’s up PlayStation Nation,

Audiophiles and gamers as reported via the PS Blog today. It has been revealed that the Platinum Wireless Headset, will be available on January 12 for $159.99 (MSRP), $199.99 (CAD). I know many gamers like myself have been eying this beauty since the initial PS4 Pro reveal back in September. Prior to delaying the headset from 2016’s Holiday line up. Sony since then has been pretty quiet about the headset until now. Here’s the details below.

The headset showcases enhanced, highly positional 7.1 virtual surround sound powered by PlayStation’s proprietary 3D audio technology. Hidden noise-cancelling microphones provide crisp, clear communication without the need for a boom mic. The headset combines superior construction and design offering style, durability, and maximum comfort – especially for long gaming sessions. Platinum is compatible with PlayStation VR and mobile devices using the included 3.5mm audio cable.

You may be familiar with 3D audio from PS VR games, which simulates the effect of audio arriving at your ears from different directions and distances to mimic the behavior of sound in real life. The Platinum Wireless Headset brings 3D audio to PS4 games, making for incredibly immersive experiences. At launch, Naughty Dog will be the first to incorporate 3D audio into a game with a patch for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. A variety of upcoming games will support 3D audio including MLB The Show 17, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Days Gone with more to come.

The team at Naughty Dog was excited to take advantage of this new technology to make Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sound better than ever. Check out the video below to hear more about how 3D Audio brings new life to Nathan Drake’s adventure
