What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

PlayStation is gearing you up for the holidays on the VR front that is. It has been revealed today that the console manufacturer is releasing a PlayStation VR GT Sport bundle. Recently stated via the PS Blog:

The PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sport bundle, which starts to hit shelves in the next few days. The PS VR GT Sport bundle will be available in retailers across the U.S. for $399.99 USD (MSRP) and in Canada for $499.99 CAD (MSRP) – so you’re getting GT Sport at no extra charge with the core PS VR bundle, which is already available at a great value.

Obviously the bundle doesn’t include the PS4/ PS4 Pro console. However for $399 USD that isn’t too bad of a deal. It also shows that PlayStation thus far is committed to providing an avenue for PlayStation VR support and games. But let us know your thoughts? What do you think of the bundle. Well wait no longer as of October 9th PlayStation will release a limited time demo for you to experience prior to the official release of Gran Turismo Sport which is set to release October 17th.

The demo is set to run for free but for a limited time which is from October 9th to October 12th. Also it should be noted that PS Plus users will be able to pre-load the demo as of October 7th. Which means this may be a bit of a hefty download. At any rate the demo will be available for preload October 7th at 8:00am PT, with access to the game on October 9th, at 12:00am PT. For everyone else, download and access to the demo starts October 9th at 6:00pm PT. The demo officially ends October 12th at 8:00am PT.

It should also be noted that the demo has a currency limit of up to 1MM of which can be transferred to the full game upon release. As well any vehicle that you may unlock during your demo play time will be transferable to your main game on October 17th.

This limited time demo will also give fans a in-depth preview of the full game’s features. This demo will be geared toward all levels of drivers, from first timers to 20 year veterans of the franchise. You drive and tune on your own terms, while the new matchmaking system ensures you’re always racing against others of similar abilities.

At the start of the demo, drivers will have the option to experience a taste of Sport, Campaign, or Arcade mode. New features such as the innovative Scapes Photography mode and Custom Livery Editor are also available for the very first time. More details for the limited time demo are detailed below via the PS Blog:

Gran Turismo Sport

In Sport mode, drivers can prove just how fast they are by putting down their fastest lap time. At the end of each qualifying session, it’s an all-out battle against other drivers with similar performance abilities ensuring each race is equal, fair, and highly competitive.

Gran Turismo Sport

Campaign mode gives players the chance to improve their driving skills across numerous challenges, missions, and circuit experiences. Each of these modes play a key role in making every driver better prepared for racing online against others. As you complete various trial and Daily Workouts, you will be awarded with numerous vehicle unlocks, in-game currency, and Experience Points, furthering your Driver Profile and personal garage.

Gran Turismo Sport

For those looking to just jump in and drive, the Arcade mode offers a wide range of vehicle classes on three pre-selected circuit configurations with different terrains. Whether you want to go for high-speed oval racing on Northern Isle, hone your technical skills on Dragon Trail, or drift sideways through the corners in rally, race on your own terms as you choose from multiple driving aids including braking and or steering to hone your skills. You can also race against a friend offline in the classic 2-player split screen mode.

Gran Turismo Sport

The True HDR workflow and physics-based rendering tech of Scapes must be experienced firsthand to be truly appreciated. This is not your traditional photo mode as each photo location contains all the light energy information of that scene, enabling you to place your personalized car in hundreds of real world locations.

To round out the demo experience, the Livery Editor allows you to add your own personal touch of customization through numerous logo designs. You can also change the color of the car, wheels, mirrors, hood, spoiler, and much more.

More insider information and videos will be released via GT Academy athletes and more as well in the coming weeks prior to release.

Editors Opinion: Although I’m not a sim racing fan I am open to giving this demo a try. I’m sure more experience GT fans are more informed on this game and are more than satisfied with what is being offered prior to the full game release. I am however interested in seeing this game with the HDR and all intact. And I am more than willing to give the Arcade mode a shot as I am more inclined to playing Arcade racers than Sims.

But enough of my thoughts what do you think. What Features would you like to see for Gran Turismo Sport. Are the offerings enough or would you like to see more implemented for the full game? Comment below and let us know. For more news make sure to check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

Gran Turismo Sport Delayed Until 2017

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

With another year comes another major PlayStation game being delayed. Yesterday morning, Kazunori Yamauchi went to the PlayStation Blog to announce, that Gran Turismo Sport has been officially delayed until 2017. Upon announcing this delay there was no release window given for the 2017 push.

“As we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.”

“GT Sport will continue to be shown at several gaming events around the world. I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience first-hand the yet-to-be revealed cutting edge experiences that will be achieved by GT Sport.”

Gran Turismo Sport Trailer:

In my opinion: Though I understand the reason’s for a game being delayed. I feel this delay will end up as a huge opportunity missed for PlayStation. GT Sport was by far PlayStation’s biggest game releasing this holiday season, with a lot of racing fans looking forward to it. With the Xbox One having Forza Horizon 3 releasing in September, they now will have no direct competition for the racing genre. Hopefully GT Sport wouldn’t lose it’s enthusiasm from fans looking for a new racing game from PlayStation.

Some PlayStation fans may or may not know about many of the upcoming titles that can fill that gap of waiting for these two highly sought after titles. So with that being said let me “MistaOfficialVG” introduce and remind you of the upcoming titles, with some confirmed release dates to look forward to in 2016:

Gran Turismo Sport steelbook and bonus edition(1)

Next up would be Dragon Quest Builders releases for PS4 on October 18th.

Dragon Quest Builders

Dragon Quest Builders won’t be the only Square Enix release PlayStation exclusive fall of 2016. The brand new adorable World of Final Fantasy and the Final Prologue with Kingdom Hearts 2.8. World of Final Fantasy releases on October 25th. Meanwhile Kingdom Heart 2.8 will release globally in December 2016. With new announcements on Kingdom Heart 3.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky Drops for PS4 this coming fall also on October 18th

No Mans Sky is a different offering for the inner intergalactic space explorer in you releasing for PS4 and PC late summer on August 8th

The Last Guardian was once slated to release on PS3 but after years of Limbo  it has once again been confirmed that the game is not dead and very much alive! It is on it’s way to the PS4 tentatively for 2016 though we don’t know when exactly it’s set to release just yet. As of now it is still slated for 2016. Whether it comes this year or not we will see. Let’s hope that we at can get word of a definite release in 2017 at best.

The last guardian

The Star Ocean franchise was once rumored to be in limbo itself as the Developer Tri-Ace was purchased in 2015 by Nepro Japan and was once rumored to make games only for mobile. Thankfully that wasn’t fully the case we are just a few week away from the release of the next Star Ocean title known as : Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness which releases this month June 28th for PS4 and PS3 (in Japan only)

Another Great JRPG to cleanse the pallet of shooters and the TDM itch of the summer:  I Am Setsuna. This game looks absolutely beautiful visually and the music is definitely a breath of fresh air. Fans of the turn based JRPG play style and fans of titles like Chrono Trigger will appreciate this title as it’s set to release this summer for PS4, PS Vita and Steam on July 19th.

Not to be forgotten or left behind. The solid and respected franchise fighter: King of Fighter XIV is set to release this summer and providing a variety of over 50 fighters  day one. Not many that Main line fighters  this gen such as Street Fighter V or Mortal Kombat XL can boast over. This fighter has grown a legacy over the years and will be exclusive to PlayStation this gen as it release late summer for PS4 on August 23rd

Another fighter set to release this summer is something a bit “Bizarre” that’s right JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven. There is a demo available now of this title via the US PSN Store. I definitely recommend giving it a try to see if you may or may not like it. It’s a standout colorful title that is worth the look if you want to try something different, or just a fan of the anime series, Dio would definitely approve!

Next up is a title for the Monster Hunter fans. One thing about PlayStation is you have a wide range of variety. So with titles like God Eater 2: Rage Burst this is one of those titles that express that idea of variety. This is a title that has a great anime as well as fun game play. The visuals are pretty close to the anime style that fans of the genre may come to appreciate. This is also a title that has a not one but two games releasing this summer. God Eater: Resurrection is set to release this month June 28th and God Eater 2: Rage Burst is set to release August 30th both of which are titles to look out for PS4. Not to mention when you pre-order God Eater 2: Rage Burst digitally via PSN you will get God Eater Resurrection free digitally as well that’s great for a 60$ value.

June is a very busy month for PlayStation Gamers, that many may not even realize. Another title on it’s way to PS4 and PC by way of developer Capcom. Set in the Resident Evil Universe is  Umbrella Corps. This 3rd person shooter made it’s debut just recently via Sony’s 2015 Tokyo Game Show event. Though the initial presentation gave a cheesy impression due to it attempt to appeal to the MLG crowd. Many who have tried this game has given it praise for being a fun title. Capcom although a bit quiet on this title with limited promo for this game. It’s a title that could be worth checking out and possibly a sleeper  hit. Umbrella Corps hits PSN and Steam this summer on June 28th.

If you’re looking to take a bit of the Nostalgic route. Or if you didn’t know about this gem during the PS2 days. This just may be one you may want to revisit. Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is a gem that dons completely re-drawn graphics and re-designed gameplay making this beloved 2D action RPG feel brand new!  You get the Refined Mode to play the game with more scenes, new monsters, and an updated battle system. Or, revisit Classic Mode to experience the 2007 version of the game with updated graphics. Whichever mode you choose, you’ll be able to fully experience the intricate plots and breathtaking art. Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is out now it has since released this week as of June 7th.

And last but certainly not least is the beautiful and lush fighter. Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator. This is the 5th main (17th overall) installment in the Guilty Gear series, Guilty Gear Xrd was developed using Unreal Engine 3, with cel-shaded graphics in place of the series traditional hand drawn sprites. It’s truly a beautifully developed game. It’s currently out now for PS4, and PS3 and also supports  one of the first fighters to support Cross-Gen Play. The feature alone stands out and allows PS4 players to fight against previous gen owners of the PS3. It also adds 6 New Characters; Johnny, Jack-O’, Jam Kuraoberi and console exclusive DLC; Kum Haehyun, Raven and Dizzy. With the Addition of new story content this makes this a definite title worth checking out. Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator is out now and since has been released for the PS4 as of June 7th.

So there you have it. More than 14 games you can look forward to and or purchase now to hold you over until Horizon: Zero Dawn and Persona 5 hits PS4 consoles. What do you think of these titles do they generate interest for you. What titles do you hope to hear more about in the coming months? Comment below let us know.
