God Of War Releases to PS4 Consoles April 20th

What’s up PlayStation Nation,

2018 is set to kick off right as it’s confirmed that God Of War is set to release on consoles this spring as it has been officially announced via the PS Blog where Sony Santa Monica Alum Cory Barlog States:

I would love to write a long blog post here but, apparently, I have a game to get done by 4/20 so I gotta get back to work as soon as possible.

God of War (PS4)

God of War (PS4)God of War (PS4)

First, let me say that this is my favorite release day of my entire career. If I live to be 100, I do not think I will be able to top this release day.

There has been a long journey just to reach this point, so it’s a little bittersweet to think that we are only a few months away from that journey finally coming to an end. While I am sad, I am also excited because it means everyone will get their hands on this crazy adventure we have been crafting for nearly five years!

You can check out the trailer below!

So, April 20, 2018…mark the date on your calendar, people. Clear that schedule, tell your significant other they are wonderful, because that is always a nice thing to do, and then wonder what you will do with all that free time you have now that you don’t need to keep asking me when the release date is.

Thank you everyone for your continued support of our game-making addiction. I will do my best to keep sharing information as we head towards launch.

…But wait, there’s more! I’m proud to share our limited Collector’s Editions and Digital Deluxe Edition, whose every component is connected back to the Norse universe and story of our game.

Director and writer, Neil Druckmann, co-writer Halley Gross, and key members of the game’s cast discuss the writing process, casting, performance capture, and more. For those attending the event, there will also be a signing session following the panel.

(Editors Opinion: Well I’ve never been a panel guy it mainly would depend on the game but each I’ve attended PSX I’ve found at least one Panel that grabs my attention last year it was the Horizon panel. This year it will probably be Uncharted Anniversary Celebration.  With Hopes to meet the great Nolan North! It would be nice for PlayStation and Naughty Dog to possibly hold a tournament of sorts for Uncharted during the anniversary for more serious players like myself and others who would more than likely be in attendance for PSX but one can only hope. Overall the panels seem pretty solid I will also be on the look out for the Sucker Punch Ghost of Tsushima Panel as I’m very eager to get my hands on this title! At any rate PSX is a great event to attend to get a taste of industry events like these on a not so crowded level in comparison to E3 so to speak.)

What do you think are you excited for PSX next week will you be in attendance at PSX? What panels are you looking forward to seeing? Lastly what events would you like to see included as a showcase at PSX? Comment below let us know for news like this and more make sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

New God of War Trailer revealed at Paris Games Week 2017

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Today PlayStation’s recent press conference at Paris Games Week 2017 has kept gamers busy with talks of games like Detroit: Becoming Human, Ghost of Tsushima to name a few. Well the conversations will continue as we’ve also gotten a chance to view new footage of the highly anticipated God Of War for PS4. So far based on the trailer we still have yet to hear any information in regards to a release date which Sony has been really reluctant to reveal any dates to avoid release date fatigue, A new approach to titles they know are highly anticipated. As of know we only have an Early 2018 release date window. With that being said many are anxious to find out more and the current situation of Kratos so here’s what we’ve gathered so far:

More than seven years after felling Zeus and the Greek pantheon , Kratos is set to return in this iteration of the series. Taking place many years after the events of the original games, Kratos now has a son Atreus of which we know little about of as well as the identity of his mother.

(Editors Opinion: I am interested in this iteration of God Of War as I’ve previously been seldom intrigued with the previous entries. However with this upcoming God Of War I am interested in pursuing more of an understanding of the title. And I simply cannot wait to get my hands on this upcoming gem!)

What do you think of the trailer? Are you looking to pick this up. Does the lack of a solid release date hurt your momentum or decision making process for this title as a purchase? Comment below let us know. For news like this and more make sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.
