Iron Tager,V-13 and More Join the Fight in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle

Whats Up PlayStation Nation,

If you’ve been following our Online Arcade articles here at What’s Up PlayStation. It should be no secret we’re looking forward to this Blazblue Cross Tag Battle. In our previous trailer reveal it was announced that no further reveals would take place until December, and well fellow gamers December is here and we’ve got the scoop on this months reveal! As you can see via the image Tager is finally set to be revealed for this months announcements. I’m sure Arc System Works will reveal more info as the month closes. But for now you can see the trailer below and let us know what you think.

So as you can see via the above trailer. Iron Tager, V-13, and Makoto from BlazBlue and Es from Xblaze/Blazeblue will be playable in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. So with these 4 behemoths being announced that leaves us with a pretty meaty roster so far. AzraelRagna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, Rachel Alucard, Hazama, and Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue; Yukiko Amagi, Yu Narukami, Yosuke Hanamura, and Chie Satonaka from Persona 4 Arena; Gordeau, Hyde, Linne, and Waldstein from Under Night In-Birth; and Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee from RWBY. That’s about 20 characters so far with the inclusion of those mentioned from the above trailer.

1513375158521362347343.jpg

Once again however, this month’s reveal so far haven’t announced any particular characters from RWBY so with January and a possible release fast approaching here’s hoping that we can hear more about some pivotal RWBY characters as well more from Under Night In Birth. But for now we can assume a pretty robust roster as this weeks reveals brings us up to 20 Playable Characters for the up coming fighter! So far it seems there’s someone for everyone. Arc System Works however has yet to give us a release window however we here at WUPS still believe and assume so far that we can expect this to release after Dragon Ball FighterZ as it would give both titles a bit of time to flourish and breath I assume.

(Editors Opinion: I can now breath a sigh of relief as now it stands that 3 of my favorite Blazblue characters have entered the fold as it stands I know have Iron Tager, Noel Vermillion and V-13 all that would make this circle complete honestly at this point would be the inclusion of Hakumen, Arakune From Blazblue, Yang from RWBY and Akatsuki from UNIEL [Under Night In Birth for those who don’t recognized the acronym.] And although I love many of Arc System Work’s Fighters I’ve yet to play Persona 4: Arena so that complete roster is foreign to me. But I look forward to playing this final product when it releases!)

But what do you think of this months trailer? Are you excited for these characters? Who would you like to see, How many characters do you hope to see on the final Roster? Comment below let us know. Make to sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

(Editors Opinion: I am absolutely happy that this is coming to the states I didn’t get a chance to play this and many other fighters last gen as it was a real pain to get access to titles like these last gen. However it seems that PlayStation is making no excuses and bringing the most anticipated fighters state side this gen. I really find it coincidental that I was actually streaming this game last night as well and was hoping to hear word on a U.S. release. And with today’s news the wait will finally be over as I will double support this game in hopes of receiving other fighters like this stateside one can only hope we’ll get titles suck as melty blood and others on the PS4 before this generation is over. Here is a preview of my stream of this fighter last night! Check it out!)

With that being said and shown, what do you think of this upcoming fighter? Does it interest you. Are you excited for more fighters and what other fighters would you hope to see coming to the PS4 this gen? Comment below and let us know. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Introduces Black Widow, Venom and Winter Soldier to the battle

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Happy holidays as we begin this week with some interesting news as released today via Capcom and the PS Blog here’s what they’ve laid out about the characters so far and you can check out the trailer with details below:

Young soldier Bucky Barnes fought alongside his best friend Captain America during World War II. Presumed dead after a dangerous mission ended in tragedy, he was captured by enemy forces and secretly brainwashed into becoming a deadly assassin known as the Winter Soldier. Bucky, now free from his captors, is once again ready to fight for the good of humanity.

Winter Soldier excels at ground combat using special moves that send the opponent flying across the screen and projectiles that bounce off the walls and floor. Bucky can activate metal shield, which utilizes his cybernetic arm to turn him into an anchor, allowing him to ignore attacks without taking any damage!

Trained extensively in the art of combat and espionage and outfitted with state-of-the-art tech, Natasha Romanova is the super spy known as Black Widow. Dutiful and fearless, she is a master assassin who found her true calling as an Avenger. She now fights to protect the world from Ultron Sigma’s influence.

As a deadly spy, Black Widow has tools for every situation. Her unique acrobatic jump can be performed in mid-air and followed up with one of her many tricky projectiles with the press of a button. Natasha also showcases her skills in hand-to-hand combat with her trusty electric batons.

Blaming Peter Parker for the failure of his journalism career, former Daily Bugle reporter Eddie Brock bonded with a malevolent, symbiotic alien creature who had previously attempted to bond with Peter. United by the goal to destroy Spider-Man, they are the fearsome force known only as Venom!

Prepare for the unexpected with Venom’s shapeshifting abilities. As a frightening force on the battlefield, Venom can launch himself across all angles of the screen and has no issue manipulating the opponent’s options to favor his own.

Everyone who has the 2017 Character Pass will unlock access to Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Venom on December 5 — along with the previously released Black Panther, Sigma, and Monster Hunter. Each character is also available for purchase individually.

Free Demo Weekend: 11/24 to 11/27

Capcom will have a free demo available this weekend from November 24 at 8:00 AM Pacific to November 27 at 8:00 AM Pacific, exclusively on PS4! The Demo will include All 30 launch characters so make sure to check it out this upcoming weekend and see if marvel is right for you!

(Editors Opinion: honestly Venom looks better than expected. It really seems as if the DLC characters have had more effort into their fighting style and art design more so than the default rosters of characters in this edition of MVCI. However minus the not so appealing looks this game is tons of fun. I do really appreciate the work put into the Winter Soldier, Venom and Black Widow for this DLC and I hope they are fun and accessible as they currently look to be. Only time will tell once we get our hands on it. The next TOA tournament should be pretty interesting with the inclusion of these fighters!)

With that being said What do you think of the new trio of  characters heading to MVCI soon. What other characters would you like to see for the next set of characters comment below let us know. For news like this and more make sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

So as you can see via the above trailer. Gordeau from Under Night In-Birth, Yukiko Amagi from Persona 4 Arena, and Azrael from BlazBlue will be playable in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. Mysterious Arika Fighter officially named “Fighting EX Layer” and coming to PS4 soon!

What’s Up PlayStation Nation

Oh yes it’s that time nothing better than new announcements. And those announcements are always good when they entail new game info. Well prepare to be hyped. As reported via the PlayStation Blog. Creator Akira Nishitani aka “NIN” of Arika announced a few tidbits of info including new UI designs of the upcoming fighter. It’s been a while for those of us who follow fighters passionately since we’ve heard much about this fighter. What was thought to be a April fools joke that many of us had hoped to be real. (Video below) Is now definitely real and is coming to PS4.

There is no set date for this current in-production title but that doesn’t stop us from getting hyped about today’s news which follows:

There were some troubles during the naming process that caused some delays, but it’s finally settled! (Although there were a lot of people already calling it this whenever we streamed…)

so today I’d like to share two new pieces of news with you all. Up until now, we’ve been referring to our project as “The Mysterious Fighting Game,” but we’re happy to announce that it finally has an official name: it’s Fighting EX Layer!

The next piece of news is that the dates for the beta test have been decided! Immediately following the conclusion of Playstation Experience on December 11, we will be holding the beta test for a two week period! There will be six characters playable in total: Kairi, Garuda, Skullomania, Darun Mister, Allen Snider, and Shirase.

This beta will be utilized for network purposes which will assist the team over at Arika with help on the stability of the online play.  Which will include 6 playable characters as mentioned in the quote above. This will also be playable at PlayStation Experience. So attendees should look forward to getting their hands on this demo soon as it will provide a bit of a head start prior to the beta release for players who attend the Anaheim event.

NIN also detailed new info about the games new “Gougi” System mechanics and share a few screens of the upcoming fighter.

About the Gougi system that everyone is curious about: it’s grown into a very deep and exciting addition to the game. When the idea first came about, I brainstormed various Gougi, which combinations would work well, and what the matches would be like. Trying to imagine all of the possibilities, I got a feeling that “This game is going to be interesting!”

But after experimenting with my Gougi ideas, I often ended up saying “This is not what I imagined.” But that’s where the fun lies! Coming up with new ideas and experimenting in game was awesome. I believe not many games allow you to so easily brainstorm ideas and then test them out in-game; please try it!

There a few things I wanted to accomplish with the Gougi system:

“I want to change the flow of matches.”

For example, in most other fighting games, aside from times where you think, “I can win in one more combo,” “I can win if I chip him out,” and “I’m in the corner,” your battle strategy doesn’t really change that much, right? I wanted to change this on a system level and make a game where matches get crazier and more exciting as they go on.

“I want players to have different ways to play depending on their Gougi.”

This goes without saying! I’m sure there will be some Gougi that work well with other Gougi, and some that suit certain characters better than others.

“I want to continue adding Gougi and change the game environment.”

This is still just an idea, but I’d like to add new Gougi at certain fixed intervals, which would in turn create the feeling of a new game. Even by adding just a single Gougi, I think you would be surprised by how much the characters can change. Although as a developer, I’m quite worried about whether or not something crazy will occur!

Frankly speaking, the Gougi system is extreme! Please enjoy it, and go into battle thinking “What kind of crazy thing can I do to my opponent this time?”

(Editors Opinion: I simply cannot wait for this game as Street Fighter EX+a were one of my first PS1 title along side games like star gladiator but that’s another conversation for another day and article. However. This was one of my first fully 3D street fighter titles. And the music and fighting mechanics were so darn fun. Just the mere fact that Arika is back in the Fighting Game Community makes me more than happy to see this title blossom into what it has now become. We’ve come a long way from box like 3D interpretations of fighters. This truly a game I cannot wait to get my hands on expect gameplay of this our our What’s Up PlayStation YouTube and My official YouTube channel as well, during PSX!!)

With that being said what do you think of the trailer? Are you interested in this game? What fighters would you like to see in this Fighter? Do you expect any special guest fighters? If so who would you like to see? Comment below let us know. For news like this and more make sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.
