Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Announced to release January 16th

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

In one of the worse kept secrets among the FGC Sony has finally revealed that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be releasing January 16th 2018. As reported via the PlayStation blog and official Capcom site. It has been revealed that the much anticipated and requested feature Arcade mode will finally be included for all users of Street Fighter V. Included with this news is that all characters will be available for free once Street Fighter: AE is released. Capcom has stated “Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will come with all 28 characters, which includes those from Season 1 and Season 2”  and they still have one more character that they will be announcing very soon.

  • All characters will receive a second V-Trigger you can choose prior to matches starting

More news will be released in the near future (PSX/Capcom Cup Finals, or PGW) here’s what capcom had to say in closing per the PS Blog.

As we promised in the past, the initial purchase of Street Fighter V is still the only one that you’ll need as the new gameplay-related content in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be part of a free in-game update for current players once it releases! That means if you currently play Street Fighter V, you won’t need to purchase anything else to get Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode, etc. – you’ll just need to download the update! For those who don’t currently have Street Fighter V, you’ll be able to purchase Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for $39.99, which will include everything we’ve mentioned above. We wanted to make sure there’s something to celebrate for both current and new players alike.

Editors Opinion: As a fan and lover of the Street Fighter Series this is good news and I hope that it can refresh and ignite a general interest in fans of the series and the FGC community. As many competitive Fighters are on the Rise (Dragon Ball Fighterz, Blazeblue Tag Battle etc.) Capcom has to remind the world the reason why street fighter has lasted for so many years (30 to be exact) and rekindle that competitive edge. Let’s see if this gives them that edge they so desperately need.

But enough of my thoughts what do you think of this news. Does this interest you to make time and the effort of purchasing the long respected fighter again or for the first time this gen? As you know with this news you can expect “The Online Arcade to have many more Tournament with this great news. With that being said comment below and let us know your thoughts. Street Fighter V – Story Expansion: A Shadow Falls Available for pre-loading

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

The real Street Fight is almost here!

Street Fighter V since launch hasn’t received the most luxurious response from the causal side of gamers, who enjoys fighting games. But it seems after the critically negative feedback they’ve received from server issues at launch and abysmal communication to the community on features and DLC characters. Capcom is seeking to right it’s wrongs and actually follow through with it’s promise of delivering a fully new cinematic story mode for those seeking a bit more from Street Fighter V, than playing online against other players via Casual or Ranked matches. Well today that wait ends (well almost) as you currently can download the story add-on for pre-load. (Click the photo to go directly to the store link.)

sf story

The story mode expansion will be available for playing this weekend: July 1st to be exact. As you can see it will take about 7.6 GB on your HDD space. As stated previously the story mode takes place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III. And is said to range between 3-4 hours of play time. What do you want to see in the story expansion? Are you excited for the upcoming expansion or do you think it’s too little, too late? Comment below let us know!

Street Fighter V Story Mode Details Revealed

What’s Up PlayStation Nation!

Street Fighter V story mode is set to release later this month. Additional Info was shared today on  Capcom-Unity.

This is what they shared:

“The SFV Story Expansion is a 3~4 hour experience titled “A Shadow Falls” and will be released at the end of this month as free DLC to all SFV players. The 5 chapter story takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III and bridges the events that happen in between the two stories. This is the first time in franchise history that fans will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fighter game.”

“The Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion, “A Shadow Falls,” depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who rise up against them. Seven “Black Moons” are deployed by Shadaloo, granting M. Bison unimaginable power and enveloping the earth in total darkness. Seeing the moons mysteriously appear in the sky, Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li embark on an epic journey around the world to retrieve fragment pieces that are the key to stopping the “Black Moons” before it’s too late. Along the way, they encounter the rest of the World Warriors, each of whom have their own agendas and motivations in mind. The final battle between good and evil begins now… who will RISE UP?”

“The next related piece of awesome news: all six DLC characters are fully playable in the story mode. That’s right, in addition to Alex, Guile, and Ibuki, that means that Balrog, Urien, and Juri are also playable! The official release of these characters will not be until later in the year, which means everyone will get to play them in advance through this mode. For the DLC characters that haven’t been released at the time the story comes out, those characters shouldn’t be considered final or tournament ready, as they still need to be properly polished and balanced. So, think of this as a free preview of the characters and enjoy playing with them before they get officially released in the other competitive game modes.”

When SFV launched some fans of the popular series were disappointed, With the lack of a full fledged Story Mode. Hopefully with this new Story Mode, those fans that were left a little dismayed, will return to the beloved fighting franchise.
