PlayStation announces changes ahead for PSX 2017?

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Well it’s only a few weeks away from greatness that is known as PSX. As you know many of us here at the What’s Up PlayStation team are going to be in attendance of PSX. And this year there will be more of us than usual alongside new members of the WUPS team being announced soon. With that being said on the announcement side of things. It has been announced via the PS Blog that things will be a bit different for PSX this year. Mainly for those fans who may not be in attendance of the event who usually look forward to a keynote event sadly it seems there will not be a keynote this year.

This year will be the first of the past PSX events to not have a key note presser for the event.  It has been reported that Early Bird ticket holders for PlayStation Experience will be granted access to an exclusive presentation at the Anaheim Convention Center the evening of Friday, December 8 starting at 8:00pm Pacific Time. There is said to be a few surprises and more however as far as the traditional keynote we all expect when it comes to PSX, it seems that will be absent this year in some capacity. However there will still continue to be the traditional panels to be streamed via the usual channels of Twitch and YouTube.

Edit: It seems that we have been updated via Sid Shuman which he has stated via the PS Blog. The keynote event will take place on Friday evening instead of Saturday. And this special event is only available to early bird ticket holders.

Key Note

This news may or may not be a bit disappointing. However it should be said that there will still be announcements via panels and exclusive hands on access to games at the event for those in attendance. However this is a definite change that will grasp the attention of many who have come to expect to see this event even when they are not in attendance.

With that being said the PSX show floor will also be open longer than usual.

Show Hours

Saturday

10:00am to 10:00pm

Sunday

10:00am to 10:00pm

And tickets are still available for purchase.Which you can purchase via the link below.

PlayStation Experience 2017 | Buy Tickets

The list of developers in attendance is still being sorted but so far we do know that we’ll get an update on titles such as dreams which they’ve released a teaser trailer which you’ll be able to view below. Other devs said to be in attendance so far are Sucker Punch Productions, Media Molecule, with more to be announced in the coming days. It’s said that the show floor has been expanded by 50% which is amazing considering the size of the show floor if you were in attendance last year.

With that being said more details in regards to more info on developer panels, autograph signings, merchandise updates, Capcom Cup and other activities. With that being said you can expect to see and hear more via the WUPS team this December at PSX 2017. Let us know what do you think of this change to this years PSX? Are you still excited or are you disappointed comment below and let us know with that being said make sure to keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Announced to release January 16th

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

In one of the worse kept secrets among the FGC Sony has finally revealed that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be releasing January 16th 2018. As reported via the PlayStation blog and official Capcom site. It has been revealed that the much anticipated and requested feature Arcade mode will finally be included for all users of Street Fighter V. Included with this news is that all characters will be available for free once Street Fighter: AE is released. Capcom has stated “Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will come with all 28 characters, which includes those from Season 1 and Season 2”  and they still have one more character that they will be announcing very soon.

  • All characters will receive a second V-Trigger you can choose prior to matches starting

  • All Season 1 and 2 Characters will be released for free for all SFV users.

More news will be released in the near future (PSX/Capcom Cup Finals, or PGW) here’s what capcom had to say in closing per the PS Blog.

As we promised in the past, the initial purchase of Street Fighter V is still the only one that you’ll need as the new gameplay-related content in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be part of a free in-game update for current players once it releases! That means if you currently play Street Fighter V, you won’t need to purchase anything else to get Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode, etc. – you’ll just need to download the update! For those who don’t currently have Street Fighter V, you’ll be able to purchase Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for $39.99, which will include everything we’ve mentioned above. We wanted to make sure there’s something to celebrate for both current and new players alike.

Editors Opinion: As a fan and lover of the Street Fighter Series this is good news and I hope that it can refresh and ignite a general interest in fans of the series and the FGC community. As many competitive Fighters are on the Rise (Dragon Ball Fighterz, Blazeblue Tag Battle etc.) Capcom has to remind the world the reason why street fighter has lasted for so many years (30 to be exact) and rekindle that competitive edge. Let’s see if this gives them that edge they so desperately need.

But enough of my thoughts what do you think of this news. Does this interest you to make time and the effort of purchasing the long respected fighter again or for the first time this gen? As you know with this news you can expect “The Online Arcade to have many more Tournament with this great news. With that being said comment below and let us know your thoughts.
