PlayStation Introduces new GT Sport PSVR Bundle

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

PlayStation is gearing you up for the holidays on the VR front that is. It has been revealed today that the console manufacturer is releasing a PlayStation VR GT Sport bundle. Recently stated via the PS Blog:

The PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sport bundle, which starts to hit shelves in the next few days. The bundle will include the PS VR system, PlayStation Camera, a physical copy of GT Sport, and an updated version of the PS VR Demo Disc, featuring 13 PS VR demo experiences. The PS VR GT Sport bundle will be available in retailers across the U.S. for $399.99 USD (MSRP) and in Canada for $499.99 CAD (MSRP) – so you’re getting GT Sport at no extra charge with the core PS VR bundle, which is already available at a great value.

Obviously the bundle doesn’t include the PS4/ PS4 Pro console. However for $399 USD that isn’t too bad of a deal. It also shows that PlayStation thus far is committed to providing an avenue for PlayStation VR support and games. But let us know your thoughts? What do you think of the bundle. Check Out The Newly Released “Retro” PS4 Pro Commercial

What’s up PlayStation Nation,

I recently wrote an opinion peace in regards to “PS4 Pro Support”. We’re heading into November soon and the PS4 Pro is set to release on November 10th. I’ve on many occasions stated my confusion on why the team over at PlayStation has been quite mum with advertising and even acknowledgement of the upcoming hardware outside of it’s initial September reveal. My guess as I’ve stated via “The Council Podcast” is that Sony has been rather slow this year with announcements such PSX 2016, PS4 Pro unveiling and even PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro bundles announcements. But none the less we are approaching the end of October and PlayStation seems to be possibly putting forth an effort to give the PS4 Pro a bit of exposure. As released via the UK PlayStation twitter recently, a trailer for the PS4 Pro has been released.  screenshot_20161028-084344.jpg

You can view the full trailer below via the Push Square YouTube Channel

What do you think of the trailer? Will it be enough to gauge the interest of others who may or may not be interested in the PS4 Pro or Call of Duty? Where is the PS4 Pro Marketing?

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

As November 10th quickly approaches myself and fans alike are wondering where is the acknowledgement of the PlayStation 4 Pro? Sony has been busy this year with the constant drop of games, which isn’t a bad thing by any mean. But as we are at almost a few weeks away from the PS4 Pro release, we’ve only received information of game delay announcements and hardware announcements (PS4 Slim & PSVR release dates, etc.). Aside from major 3rd party releases of games available for the standard PS4, there has been little to no marketing in regards to the PS4 Pro. There has been no announcement of bundles which is a contrast difference to the PSVR bundle that’s available right now. Even in recent events of Tokyo Game Show PlayStation has been vocal and even acknowledges the PS4 Slim. To add more questions on their direction towards it’s target audience, they’ve even revealed a PS4 Slim bundle for Final Fantasy XV  more so in comparison to the PS4 Pro.

Even fresh off the September reveal of the PS4 Pro. I recently visited Japan two weeks after the announcement of the PS4 Pro. There there was no signs or focus even a little bit for the PS4 Pro during the initial Tokyo Game Show keynote. While sightseeing on my vacation in Japan, I made sure to visit The Akihabara district. From what I and many were lead to understand this particular region of Tokyo to be the mecca of Video Game Enthusiast. So while scouring the streets of Electric, not seeing much marketing or a single mention of the PS4 Pro left me a bit confused. Especially with seeing the focus for the Final Fantasy XV PS4 bundle being recently revealed and seeing more focus for the current standing PS4’s and upcoming bundle.

Fast forward to the present. A week after the release of PSVR. I figured we’d surely hear something by now in regards to a Call of Duty PS4 Pro Bundle or something of the sorts considering that PlayStation itself has marketing rights with COD, Battlefront as well the recently announced Red Dead Redemption 2. One would think that Sony has something up it’s sleeve for bringing awareness to the mid gen console that’s only a few weeks away from release. Sadly nothing has been announced and PS4 Pro continues to receive small spurts of information in regards to which games will support it and how those games will be supported.

Some PlayStation fans feel that the PS4 Pro is unnecessary and since it’s reveal maybe Sony are reworking it’s messaging plan on how to get the console back in good terms with it’s gaming audience. Either way with the holiday approaching and the disappointment of recent game delays it would be nice to see Sony back from it’s stumbled approach into the fall season with a refined focus for PS4 Pro messaging as well bundle for PS4 Slim and Pro SKU’s. What do you think PlayStation Nation? Do you want to see more focus on the PS4 Pro? Are you interested in the PS4 Pro and plan to purchase it in the future or so? Comment below let us know.

PS4 Slim Uncharted Bundle Rumored to be $249 on Black Friday

What’s Up PlayStation Nation!

This Black Friday will be interesting, with the month of October halfway though it’s completion. It’s almost head scratching that Sony hasn’t released any word of any particular bundles for this holiday let alone not marketing the PS4 Pro very much. With that being said a small bit of information has been recently rumored. Sources allege that eBay, among other stores, will be offering the PS4 for $249.99 this Black Friday. Even better, the bundle will include a copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

wp-1476903124003.jpg

With this in mind, it is likely that the Xbox One will match this offer with a $249.99 bundle of its own, especially given that you can buy one from Amazon for $256 right now. The primary Black Friday bundle will possible include Gears of War 4 or Madden NFL 17.

These drastic price reductions are the product of not only manufacturing optimization, but the introduction of slim SKUs. The PS4 Slim and Xbox One S have reduced component pricing that has provided both Microsoft and Sony a big opportunity this holiday season. Interestingly enough, both consoles are priced similarly to the nearly four year old Wii U.

What do you think PlayStation Nation? Are you looking forward to any Black Friday bundles for holidays gifts, Do you think more needs to be done for potential buyers to bring the PlayStation 4 into their homes? Comment below and let us know. For more news make sure to check back here at WhatsUpPlayStation.
