(Editors Opinion: I’m pretty satisfied with the selection however with the rumor of Dark Souls 2 coming to this months selection. I’m sure this has left many who put stock into the rumor disappointed. However for the game Rime this is a pretty solid selection. For the fellow trophy hunters this is a pretty doable platinum which shouldn’t take long to complete. Knack however is a title many wanted to arrive on PS Plus, and will provide a good challenge for those who want a good platformer that provides a good challenge.)

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Today is the start of the busy weekend for PlayStation Gamers. Today PlayStation has release a trailer to introduce and prep gamers for the upcoming RPG Brawler coming to PS4 consoles soon. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a new brawler from Square Enix and Koei Tecmo coming to PS4 on 30th January. Known in arcades across Japan as Dissidia Final Fantasy, the latest installment of the fighting franchise features three-versus-three combat and a roster full of characters from all ages of the Final Fantasy saga. You can view the trailer for the open beta below:

(Editors Opinion: I’m looking forward to this game. And I’m very much so hyped to play this title weekend, alongside Dragon Ball FighterZ Open beta as well! I’m hoping this has a more in depth tutorial with actual commentary. I was privileged with taking part in the private beta but the tutorial was a bit lacking to say the least. However I enjoyed the game very from my limited play through and this game looks absolutely gorgeous. I am very much looking forward to playing the final build upon it’s release.)

What do you think? Are you going to try this RPG brawler open beta? What Final Fantasy character do you look forward to using? What Final Fantasy characters do you want to see added later that may not be in this current iteration? Comment below let us know. Check out the Free PlayStation Plus Games arriving in January 2018

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

With PSX and The Game Awards and the holidays soon ending. We have a lot to look forward to as far as of games we will soon be able to get our hands on in 2018! With that being said. It seems that PlayStation is looking to have something for everyone this January  with the PlayStation Plus Free games of the month. So without further ado here’s what we’re able to get our hands on this December in the trailer below:

The Line Up details are as followed:

  • Sacred 3, PS3
  • The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, PS3
  • Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Uncanny Valley, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)

It should also be noted that New PSVR users have the chance to pick up Star Blood Arena as a free bonus game starting January 2 through March 6. Even if you don’t have a PSVR headset currently, it’s to be remember that you can simply add this title to your library for later usage!

(Editors Opinion: I’m pretty impressed with the Dues Ex selection being offered as I was not a day one purchaser of this game and a bit skeptic of the title. Now I will give this a shot and make up my decision on if I like the game or not. As far as Batman Telltale this is a great addition for those who are a fan of the dark knight as it provides a great twist in what many would expect from our hero and how he handles his decisions. This is definitely a fun and easy platinum for those who may check it out. As far as the other games we will see what they are like as well, as I will be doing my own trophy hunter research to see if these games are a nice shot at a shiny new platinum trophy.)

But enough of my thoughts what do you think of this month’s PS Plus free game selection? Do you think last months offering a better or worse. Comment below and let us know. For news like this and more keep us bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

Catherine: Full Body heading to PS4 and PS Vita

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

If you’re a fan of Atlus games there’s a been a lot of hearsay prior to today’s official new and it started by way of speculation via twitter user Nibel. Who recently stated that there were rumors of PS3 titles being looked into for future re-releasing.

From there the speculation grew as many hoped it would be either a remake of demon souls but that title was only published via Atlus for the U.S. release as it wouldn’t make sense for such an announcement to be made. Lo and behold  after many twitter users speculated on the title.

We were given confirmation not even 24 hours later that Catherine: Full Body is in currently in development for PS4 and PS Vita users..(In Japan) But it’s safe to assume this will hit stateside. As of now there is no word on if this will release on other competitive platforms but the PS4 and PS Vita release is certain. But aside from the news of the release Atlus released a statement regarding the upcoming PS4/PS Vita remake.

The new version of the puzzle game will feature a bit of  brand new content not found in the original release such as:

  • A third Catherine.
  • New cut scenes for the previous heroines
  • New endings
  • New events
  • New gameplay mechanics
  • A new mode
  • Online battles

More will be revealed as the remake nears release however but this is definitely good news for those who are interested in the title.

(Editors Opinion: Back during the PS3 generation I only played the demo but I loved the music and presentation of the game. I was thoroughly interested but never got around to playing the final game as I was a bit wrapped up in others [Sleeping dogs, War For Cybertron and Borderlands 2 with friends at the time] However with this news of the upcoming release I am very interested and will most definitely purchase and maybe even attempt to platinum this. On the flip side however I am a bit disappointed that announcements like these weren’t made for events like this years PSX. It definitely shows an opening for a missed opportunity. Even if this game is set to appear on other platforms it’s announcements like these these reach the hardcore PlayStation gamer and establishes confirmation of why gamers choose the PlayStation brand.)

What do you think of this title being released for the PS4 and PS Vita? Are you interested in this game? Would you pick this up now if you missed out on the previous generation release? Comment below let us know. For news like this and more make sure to check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta heading to PS4 in January

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

FGC fans and Anime Fighter enthusiast have much to rejoice upon as Bandai Namco has recently announced new fighters such as “Hit, Beerus and Goku Black”  are heading to it’s upcoming Arc System works fighter. But as much surprise Bandai Namco has released more news as they’ve officially stated that:

Players will be able to test their skills on the DRAGON BALL FighterZ Open Beta between January 14th and January 15th. Those who have preordered the game will have extra slots on the early access from January 13th.

open beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ will be held from January 14 at midnight PT / 3:00 a.m. ET / 9:00 a.m CET to January 16 at the same time, with

with users who pre-order the game gaining early access on January 13.

Alongside with the above stated news Bandai Namco has released some details about the upcoming characters and a trailer which you can view below:

Goku Black

Goku Black will receive assistance from Zamasu, such as holding down the opponent when firing a “Kamehameha.” Using his giant scythe and hand-blade, Goku Black can attack from a distance with long reach, never giving his opponent a chance to retaliate.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZBeerus

Beerus is the God of Destruction of Universe 7. He restrains his opponent while using “Spheres of Destruction” that explode upon touch, all the while gradually cornering his opponent with what is not even the full extent of his God powers.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZHit

Hit uses his “Time-Skip/Molotov” technique to attack as if he is warping. He also uses technical skills, such as automatically counter-attacking when attacked in a defensive stance, to drive into his opponent with ultra high speed attacks.

Dragon Ball FighterZDragon Ball FighterZ

(Editors Opinion: I’ve been steering clear of Dragon Ball Super but at this point I have no choice but to binge watch as I’m looking forward to be caught up with the show’s latest story arc by the release of this much anticipated fighter. However I simply cannot stress enough of how beautifully put together this fighter is. The Cell shading of this looks amazing when you view the trailers of the game. I simply cannot wait to see more gameplay of not only Hit and Beerus but Android 21 as well. This will definitely be a day one purchase for me.)
With that being said, Dragon Ball FighterZ will launch for PlayStation 4, and other platforms on January 26 in the Americas and Europe, and February 1 in Japan. What do you think of the open beta details and this new trailer? Are you personally interested? Do you think this will live up to the expectations for fighting game fans and those who that say Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 and 2 didn’t live up to the hype? Goku Black, Hit, And Beerus Joins Dragon Ball FighterZ Roster

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

In the latest issue of V-Jump, Goku Black(Zamasu), Hit, and the god of destruction Beerus was reveal as the most recent additions to Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. All three characters are extremely popular for the Dragon Ball Super series, so its no surprise they made it into Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. With the addition of these three characters, I’m sure the excitement for this game will be exponentially greater. It’s great to see such a diverse bunch of characters being added in Dragon Ball FighterZ so far. Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to launch in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 26th, 2018.

Here is a brief breakdown of these characters:

Goku Black(Zamasu)

goku black(Zamasu)Goku Black’s Meteor special attack is “Work of the Gods,” in which he attacks with his hand transformed into a blade and follows with a cloning attack. Zamasu (Goku Black’s true form) also appears and can bind the opponent.

Beerus and Hit:

beerus HitBeerus’ Meteor special attack is “God of Destruction’s Judgment,” which seems to go from a throwing technique to a Headshot rush attack. He can also use “Sphere of Destruction,” which creates a sphere that explodes when it touches the enemy.

Hit’s Meteor special attack is “I Continue to Grow,” which stops time and unleashes multiple attacks one after the other. He uses instantaneous attacks and movement, as well as strike techniques.
