Bravo Team PSVR E3 2017 Trailer

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

PlayStation VR had a substantial presence during PlayStation’s E3 2017 press conference. One of the highlights for the PSVR games is being developed by Supermassive Games called Bravo Team. Bravo Team is a tactical cover-base first person shooter set to release at a To Be Announced(TBA) date. Even without a release date/window, this is a title PSVR owners should definitely keep their eyes on.

Features

  • TEAMWORK: Teamwork is at the core of the game. Bravo Team has been developed to allow both single player and online 2 player co-op. Player co-operation is key. Verbal communication between players is essential to make the decisions you need to survive and avoid (or navigate) enemy detection.
  • INTENSE IMMERSIVE ACTION: Bravo Team takes you on a heart-pumping journey of intense combat and split-second decision making. With the feel of an action movie, Bravo Team offers exciting combat situations, multiple scenario outcomes and a seamless, continuous environment to create a wholly immersive experience.
  • TOTAL CONTROL: Bravo Team puts you directly into the action. You’ll need to lean round corners to take out targets or duck for cover if under fire. You’ll raise the aim controller to view through the iron sight or hold above your head to blind fire.
  • DECISIONS UNDER FIRE: You’ll make constant split-second tactical decisions about when to take cover, when to reload and when to engage. Should you lay down suppressing fire or try a different route? Who takes that new weapon? Players will need to think fast and act quickly to survive.

Guerrilla Cambrige Officially Closed Sony Confirms

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Sony has confirmed the closure for Guerrilla Cambridge studios. According to Games Industry Biz the shutdown to them was “regrettable”. The decision for closing the studio down comes from a review of all current PlayStation projects and resources, stating “in order to deliver on our strategic objectives, it is necessary to make some changes to the European studios structure”. Guerrilla Cambridge recent most noticeable game titles were Killzone Mercenary for the PlayStation Vita and RIGS: Mechanical Combat League for the PlayStation VR. As for the parent studio Guerrilla Games, the developers for Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Killzone series, no one was affected by the closure.

killzone-mercenary

“Whilst we accept that this decision will mean that we risk losing high calibre staff, by focusing on other Studios with exciting new projects in development, (including continued work on PlayStation VR), we believe we will be in a stronger position going forward and able to offer the best possible content of the highest quality to our players”.

rigs

In my opinion: This is truly a sad turn of events for one of Sony Interactive Entertainment studios. Personally Guerrilla Cambridge was a studio with extremely talented individuals and had the capability to deliver great experiences for gamers. RIGS Mechanical Combat League set the bar for PSVR games, showing that full scaled, fast moving, and high impact games does have a place in Virtual Reality. I hope they continue to support RIGS: Mechanical Combat League not just on a causal player level, but also on a competitive level. So much untapped potential waiting to be unleashed.
