PlayStation 4 Tournament Feature Coming Soon

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

PlayStation is teaming up with ESL to bring PS4 owners a new feature called Tournaments. Tournaments will allow PS4 players to participate in tournaments in games you the gamer wants to play. The first major tournament will start with NBA 2k17. It will take place on October 27th and will run until November 26th, with Major Cup rounds occurring every Sunday. Prizes will be given to the top 3 winners of the NBA 2k17 Major Tournament, which will include items such as a DualShock 4 and other PlayStation gear products.

Here is the full detail on how to sign up:

If you’re interested in entering, signups open today. You’ll need a copy of NBA 2K17, a PlayStation Plus membership, and link an ESL account to register and compete. The registration process will prompt ESL account creation if you do not already have one.

Once tournaments are live, you can find them under Events on your PS4 system menu to view the details. Once you have signed up for a tournament, your PS4 will automatically prompt you when it is time to play your matches. There are many types of Tournaments and matches taking place, so check out the PlayStation Tournaments feature and compete!

Hopefully we will see much more tournaments for other games within the PlayStation catalog, such as Street Fighter V, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, or DriveClub. This is a great starting point for those competitive PlayStation players looking for a higher level of challenges in the PlayStation community.

What games would you like to see be implemented in this new Tournament feature? Let us know in the comments below. For more gaming news make sure to check back with us here at: “What’s Up PlayStation”.
