What’s Up PlayStation Nation
Ever since Microsoft released their Xbox One elite controller last year and seeing how successful it was. Many PlayStation gamers were left to wonder, asking where is our elite controller?
In recent news, Sony Interactive Entertainment of Japan has filed a patent for a new Dualshock 4 controller. In this patent, we see the new Dualshock 4 will apparently have some new customization options. For example, with the D-pad and front facing buttons. The D-Pad and front facing buttons will be interchangeable with the two thumb sticks, all Dualshock’s traditionally has on the bottom of the controllers. We also see paddles being placed in the inner grip area of the new design. We should take note, that this controller original patent was filed back in July of 2013, before the PlayStation 4 was released. So it is safe to say, a Dualshock 4 “elite” controller was in the works for a long time.
The questions left to ask now are, When will we see an official statement on this new Dualshock 4? Will this new controller align it self with the PlayStation 4 Neo? Will this new controller fix the battery or thumb stick rub issues, with the current Dualshock 4? Let us know your thoughts on the possible new Dualshock 4 in the comments below.
