Arc System Works Reveal 3 more Characters for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle!

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Well fellow gamers here we have a rare case of lightning striking twice in one week! We’ve started the week off with a solid BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle reveal and now we end the work week with yet another BBCTB reveal. Talk about luck well at any rate. Today we’ve got something for everyone As this time they’ve evened out the reveal a bit but left a bit of a void of absence with no RWBY character reveal (here’s hoping to seeing the RWBY Bae Yang appear in the future) But with that being said all is not loss as this reveal possibly has something for everyone. Today we’re introduced into the likes of characters from BlazBlue, Persona 4: Arena, and Under Night In-Birth.  Check out the trailer below for a full preview:

As you can see it’s a pretty well mixed bag as it has been revealed that Noel Vermillion (BlazBlue), Chie Satonaka(Persona 4: Arena), And Waldstein(Under Night In-Birth), are this week reveals and should provide a variety that many fans of this upcoming fighter are looking forward to.

Editors Opinion: This is one of my personal favorite reveals thus far. When this game was first announced I was mostly hoping for Noel, Tager and Nu-11(V-13 at best) So far my wish is 1/3rd’s complete lol. I personally find Noel to be a fun character and very agile as well as possessing a wide arsenal of attacks. And Waldstein seems like a character more so to grapple style of character. I still hope that Tager is revealed as far Blazblue character implementation is concerned.

What do you think of this week’s reveal, as hinted at the end of the video. There will be another character reveal next month which we can’t wait to see who’s going to be involved. If you’re in the FGC actively there are currently rumblings that Blake from the RWBY series is the one of the next character reveals but it can only be taken as rumor at this point. But what do you think of this reveal of the roster so far. Are you excited for this title and what characters do you hope to see from either of the franchises? Will you be picking it up? As the months pass we will do a run down of all the characters included among the 4 series. But with being said comment below let us know do you think. PlayStation Collectible Card Will make an Appearance once again at PlayStation Experience 2017

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

If you know anything as far as this gen is that PlayStation has been particularly smart when it comes to showing it’s hand (no pun intended) when it comes to information and events, at least this gen. Well die hard fans of PlayStation related memorabilia can rest assured as it has been revealed today via the PlayStation Blog that there will be collectible cards once again. For those of you who may not have had the chance of attending PSX these cards are used not only as collectibles but task in order order to gain access to certain events, prizes and other sorts, even demo access. This year’s PSX plans to keep that same element alive as it has just been revealed that these collectible cards will available at this years PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, CA. As reported via the PS Blog here’s a look of some of the cards you can look forward to collecting below:

Cards

Capture

Attendees will also get the chance to earn PlayStation Trophy Cards by completing certain quests at the event — find out how via the Experience PlayStation app once the show starts.

Your Bronze Trophy card is already “in the bag” (meaning you’ll get one just for attending — it’ll literally be in your gift bag). You may be asking, “How can I get the rest of the cards?” The answer is simple (sorta). They’ll be located at certain locations and booths on the show floor, and you might even need to play a demo to earn some of them. Which locations/booths/demos? Well, you’ll need to figure that out on your own.

Editors Opinion: Although fun for a bit the reality is that some of the quest and demo kiosk that you may have have to attend in order to retrieve some of these collectibles will be daunting and a serious task. Take it from experience (3 time attendee) these lines depending on the popularity of the game can be a bit or very discouraging. Which my suggestion would be if you are not attending alone to the PSX your best bet would be to split up into teams and try to endure the long waiting for your collectible cards, or gaming goodies in a bit of a strategic fashion. That’s just one tip of many on how to retrieve these collectible cards.

What do you think? Are you fond of these PlayStation Collectible cards? Will you be attending PSX this year? What games are you looking forward to seeing and or hearing about? Do you have any excitement at all for PSX? Don’t forget that PSX 2017 will be December 9th-10th at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA which PlayStation Experience 2017 tickets are available now. Comment below and let us know. Check out the new Star Wars Battlefront II Single Player Trailer

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Today DICE and EA games have released a new single player trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II alongside some more details in regard to the upcoming release.  As posted via the PS Blog here’s a bit of an introduction into the Star Wars Battlefront Story we will be experiencing:

Star Wars Battlefront II opens with an interrogation. Commander Iden Versio, disarmed and bound, glares at the Rebel soldier holding her captive. The slow, steady tension of the scene runs contrary to the often bombastic, spectacular battles that Star Wars is known for. But Iden’s story is one of military dedication, political motivation, loyalty, and betrayal. And bombastic, spectacular battles.

Iden serves as a humanizing element to the Empire — a force we have spent decades fighting in the Star Wars universe. She and the other agents of Inferno Squad represent the discipline and devotion that the Imperials glorify. But the most striking quality of her character impacts the entire narrative: her courtesy.

The single-player campaign of Star Wars Battlefront II takes place in the moments before and immediately after the conclusion of Return of the Jedi. The prologue mission follows Iden as she deftly escapes Rebel capture, then assists Imperial forces on Endor following the destruction of the second Death Star. But as she creeps behind enemy lines and uses her tactical droid to survey soldier positions, her whispered commands speak volumes. “Scan, please.”

Iden address both her fellow agents and her droid with notable politeness. It is immediately endearing, and a small detail among many that make the beginning moments of the campaign so enjoyable. It showcases that Iden and her team are not supervillains. They are soldiers. Even Iden has misgivings about the Empire’s plans, and those boil over in due time…

Players of the beta earlier this month have an idea of what to expect in regards to gameplay. What do you think of the trailer and summary of the battlefront single player? Are you interested in playing this upon release? Do you think that the characters are engaging enough to warrant a purchase? Star Wars Battlefront II releases November 17th and November 14th for those who have pre-ordered. Comment below and let us know. For news like this and more make to keep up bookmarked and check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

DissidiaNT thumb1

Editors Opinion: I must admit as a bit of a newcomer to the series myself I am bit taken by how much information there is available to intake for each character. But I am fully dedicated to putting in the time to learn these characters ( Especially, Cloud, Squall and Noctis ) I would also hope that more characters are in the pipeline from other Fantasy titles of the past but only time will tell.

What do you think of this information so far. Does this motivate you to learn more about the Dissidia Series? Are you interested at all now that this is a console first for the series? Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remastered US Release Date revealed

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

It has recently been revealed today via Square Enix, that the release date for Star Ocean: The Last Hope (AKA Star Ocean 4) will release in tandem with it’s Japanese date slated for November 28th. PS Plus users will be able to take advantage of a 10% discount making the game available for purchase at $20.99 USD but only for a limited time as this 10% off PS Plus deal is only available until December 12th. Also available now if you haven’t heard Star Ocean: Til the end of time. Is currently available in the PS Store as a PS2 classic for $20.99. So if you’re looking for your full fix of the Star Ocean experience PlayStation is where you need to be.

Editors Opinion: This is a great move as stated in one of our previous articles. I honestly speculated that this would be available for purchase in 2018. I’m happy to see that I was wrong very wrong. As I am looking forward to purchasing this game. As I haven’t finished a Star Ocean Game since PS2. Although I love the franchise the recent official PS4 iteration failed to keep me engaged. Although I enjoy the fighting system very much so. At any rate this is a great move and hopefully from the engagement and reception of these HD remakes it will push for Square Enix and Tri-Ace to move forward with a more immersive and satisfying story for the Star Ocean Series.

What do you think are you interested in this purchase now that it’s set to coincide with it’s Japanese release date? Are you excited or unphased by this announcement. Comment below let us know. For news like this and more make sure check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

PlayStation introduces the Mini Wired Pad for PS4

What’s Up PlayStation Nation,

Hori has announced the officially licensed Mini Wired Gamepad for PlayStation 4, designed with younger gamers in mind. The controller is 40% smaller than the DualShock 4 and is said to have a simple form factor with a flat design to make it easy to fit into smaller hands. Most importantly, the controller has a low price of $29.99 USD (MSRP) / $39.99 CAD (MSRP), making it a great purchase for companion play on games like Knack 2, Sonic Mania and more.

The Mini Wired Gamepad includes the expected functions to play most PS4 games while still providing a great gaming experience – that includes the right and left sticks, R1/L1/R2/L2 buttons, directional buttons, and action buttons. Certain touch pad inputs can be simulated via the left or right sticks.

The wired controller includes a 10ft cable, making for an easy plug-and-play experience. However the controller does not include some features of DualShock 4, including a touch pad, light bar, stereo headset jack, speaker, vibration, or motion sensing, it comes at a great value and helps open gaming to the whole family. You can check out more detailed information for the gamepad here.

The blue Mini Wired Gamepad launches across U.S. and Canada this holiday.

\

Editors Opinion: As a father I’m definitely considering purchasing this for my daughters as they are a bit harder on controllers, more so than I would like to admit. This is a great value for me personally and though it lacks a bit of what most PS4 controllers have, it would provide a great introduction for younger kids with it being made for those with smaller hands. A Definite must by for parents.

What do you think of this controller? Is what you would expect and do you think it’s a great value for kids? Comment below and let us know. For news like this and more make sure to check back with us here at What’s Up PlayStation.

Editors Opinion: Games like SingStar are great for parties, Although I haven’t taken part in any Karaoke events in a while. The Sing star series is great for kids and adults alike and if you’re familiar with the activeness from the PS3 community as it’s grown into the PS4 community the Sing Star Brand is one of PlayStation’s Hidden gems. Even at events like PSX (which we’ll have footage and articles of) You’ll come find that it’s one of PlayStation’s beloved franchised all while being in a niche gaming space.
